Description
There are flies you tie in the shop, and then there are flies born on the water. The Dragon Fur Nymph is the latter.
Developed over a full Montana summer on a high-mountain lake thick with damselflies and dragonflies, this articulated nymph didn’t come from a book — it came from watching what the fish were actually eating, then going home and figuring out how to fool them.
Built on black nickel saltwater hooks for strength that laughs at big trout, the Dragon Fur gets its irresistible movement from Nature’s Spirit Monster Bush Fur — wound through a red wire dubbing loop in two complementary colors that pulse and breathe with every twitch of the retrieve. The articulated body does the rest, giving the fly that slow, undulating kick of a natural dragonfly nymph working its way toward shore.
The finishing touch? An Orange Grizzly Ewing Chickabou tail that never stops moving, even when you do.
Fish it slow. Fish it deep. Let it do the work.
