Description
Brings Out the Barbie in Every Rainbow
Most hopper-stones get tied to look good in your hand. This one’s tied to look good from underneath — because that’s the only angle that matters to a trout.
The Pink Belly Hopper-Stone runs a two-tone foam back: bruiser purple on top for a natural silhouette against the sky, hot pink on the underside for maximum visibility on the take. A Semperfli Gel Core Fl. Wilmington Yellow tag adds a hot-spot trigger point right where fish key in first. The body is built from Natures Monster Bush Fur for buggy, breathing profile, Glow Pink sili legs kick and pulse in the film, and a Natures Spirit Predator Dub wing finishes it off with just enough movement to look alive without looking busy.
Here’s the part that matters most for you: this thing floats like it means it. Between the dense foam top and the Monster Bush Fur body, the Pink Belly Hopper-Stone shrugs off drag, holds up a dropper rig all day, and refuses to sink even after a dozen refusals. Fish it as a standalone hopper-stone in July heat, or hang a small nymph off the back and cover the whole water column with one fly.
Best for: hopper-stone season on freestone rivers, high-riding dry-dropper rigs, low-light and off-color water where fish need a visible target.
Tied by: Capt. Grumpy — over a decade guiding Montana’s rivers, built for the water we actually fish.
